Changing the hostname within your DirectAdmin installation isn’t complicated, but it has to be done correctly. So please, follow the step-by-step directions outlined below.

DirectAdmin (Administrator Level):

  • Login to your DirectAdmin as the Administrator
  • Next, go to "Admin Settings" and from there "Server’s Hostname"
  • Make the necessary changes and apply your settings!
  • Please allow DirectAdmin a moment to restart!
  • Upon completion, please go to the "DNS Administration" section
  • Then followed by "Add Zone" and create the following zone style:

    Domain Name: server.your-server-hostanme.com
IP Address: 1.2.3.4 (Your Servers IP)
    NS1: ns1.your-server-hostname.com
    NS2: ns2.your-server-hostname.com

  • Once ready, simply save the configuration to apply!

Should you have any further questions pertaining you DirectAdmin licenses, please feel free to get in contact with the LicenseCube support team for additional assistance.

Changing hostname from WHM is one great extra coming with cPanel. Just click a button and fill the new hostname and everything is ready :)

You can always change the server‘s hostname via SSH:/etc/sysconfig/networkand reboot the server to apply the changes.
